New Drum Man
Move aside Ricky Tubb, the OAOTs have now a new drumming man to rock with us in New York City. The 7th OAOT is none other than Joe Borges who came highly recommended by Mike and Glen, of Plastic East fame, and rightly so. We played on Sunday and will do it again next Sunday, keeping the Sabbath holy for rockin. We are all a little rusty, but the songs are there, we all know them for the most part, and in a month we will be everywhere from Jersey to Bushwick, rockin the kids like they deserve. You deserve, we serve.
And what's more, he's best friend's with our new favourite NY band (well actually the are from New Brunswick, New Jersey, wouldn't want to offend anyone, but I saw them in NY so for me they are in NY, even if they're in NJ), the Screaming Females! So quality shows with quality bands in a quality city serving quality booze being tasted by quality tasters.

Razorcake Review
ONE AND ONLY TYPICALS:
Riot in My Head: CD
Album number two from these guys sees them continuing to tap the pop/punk vein, with a bit more emphasis on jangly Husker guitars, Midwestern hooks, and even a wee bit of country twang on Lies. A lot of what they do is good at worst, but when they latch onto a good riff, like on Guided by Choices, they can really run with it. Jimmy Alvarado (www.theoaots.com)

New York City
So two-thirds of the O.A.O.Ts are on the east coast now, looking to replace the infamous golden god, Mr Tubb, trying to write more music as Matt battles the slumlords of Trenton and Eddie looks for a job in the city and continues to talk shit about anything he can think up on his stupid blog.
We might have a few prospective drummers lined up, but as of this very minute, we are holding our breaths, and turning purple, as we wait for someone to write a real review of Riot In My Head. In other news, Accelerator is being picked up to be on a super secret new video game. We'll announce the details once we get paid. I mean, that's why anyone does anything, right?
This city is great, there are shows all the time. In bars, at parties, in art spaces, on the street. All we need is to practice with a drummer who can play in a suit. It'll be tough with this humidity though, but not impossible. The Buzzcocks have one. And they're only extremely better and more famous than us.

New Mixes
So I went into Would Work Sound to seal the deal with mix master Evan, whose final radio mixes are on our page.
It was a good time watching Evan work. His half wolf dog Hank was there being a badass. We perfected the 3 songs we hope you will request on the radio wherever you are. We will send out a list of radio stations once we settle out east and you can help us on our way to importance. Evan is a great conversationalist, and honestly loves our band for some strange reason, a quality controller of top degree with the ability to bring out the music we love in our own music. Huge Husker Du guitars and Jam bass with enormous pounding drums. Brings out the energy and makes it angrier. He said the bass on Underground sounds like its barking, like its hungry. Hank agreed. We also talked about the quality of albums and how good anything can sound. I think about when music was recorded on tape. As is. As many takes as you can afford and hope for the best. What you can do with sounds is exponentially more expansive now. Very amazing. As is Evan and his mixes.

Almost a review
So on June 9th Cool Noise put us up on their blog, acknowledging that they received our CD and that we sound like the Jam. Woo hoo. They have a cool site which we were not cool enough to make it on, but their mention and working link is all we need to feel the love, in case you are too lazy to click, here is what it said:
The One and Only Typicals - Riot In My Head
A Power Pop band, rooted in the simplicity and directness and enthusiasm of bands like The Jam.

Hey kids
Hey kids. Long time no action. That is because we haven't been around to rock you out. Yes, Eddie is still in town, so stop asking him when he's going to finally leave, you make him feel unwelcome and he cries. Matt is in Yardley Pennsylvania, flipping a house in Jersey and getting rich in more conventional, intelligent and sane ways, and Ricky, well who knows what the hell Ricky is up to. For now, we are waiting to hear back from the many reviewers who are just trying to conjure up the words suitable to praise our rockin rollin goliath masterpiece of a follow up album. Evan Frankfort got a hold of two of our songs, Get Bent and Underground for Radio Remixes and they sound great. They are up on our Myspace now. We might even get a friend (who chose to remain anonymous for fear of being associated with us cretins) to press a "45 of Guided By Choices, the opening track on Riot. So, thanks to everyone for their kind words, but they don't mean shit unless they are written in an underground British punk zine. So go start up your own publication before you come up to us and tell us how "good" we are. You are unbelievable sometimes. Really.
In other news, Eddie is supplementing the entertaining portrayal of our journey to the East with a new blog and myspace page, which actually isn't new at all, and proves that he has too much time on his hands and that L.A. has finally gotten to his head.

get blackout drunk every other day of the week. Or else Matt will smile.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the inaugural KOK at Safari Sam's, which now will actually have rock shows on Friday night. And its cheap. And parking is free. And its in a 99 cent store shady ass strip mall parking lot. But fun! And Eddie can get a cab home for $4, or he can walk (if he can walk.) Brooke says, "say goodbye to sobriety baby!" So make sure to come out every week, and especially at the end of this month (April 28th). We will give you a FREE copy of our new CD "Riot in My Head," which Brooke already has and loves! As does everyone else who has been lucky enough to hear the awesomeness of us. Even Indie 103 rocks that shit man. No, really. Mark Sovel played us first on "check one two" on Sunday night and now we are millionaires! Well not really, but we are damned good at the rock, so request us on Sundays and come out on Fridays and get blackout drunk every other day of the week. Or else Matt will smile.

why don't you already have a drink in your hand?
So Safari Sam's is finally open! After months of wondering when this amazingly drunken all ages riot of rock and roll would commence, we have a confirmation that both this Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th Safari Sam's (5214 Sunset west of Western in a strip mall) will be having its Kiss or Kill sponsored Grand Opening(s). And what's more we will be sharing a set with our lovers, Silver Needle on Saturday night (aka Part 2). The shared set will be 20 minutes of explosive alcohol induced rock spasms and a great preview of the 28th when we will actually practice a night or two before our last show. We are not sure what time we play this Saturday, but get there before 10 PM so you can get in cheap and drink even cheaper. Speaking of which, why don't you already have a drink in your hand?

The album is done
The album is done. It is in the hands of mastermind Evan Frankfort and being mastered as this is being typed. Robin has done some great things with our songs and we're very excited about it. Thanks to everyone for checking the songs out on myspace. More will be put into the rotation soon. For now, it is very appropriate that the raging sleeper of Riot in My Head, Kill Me, is freshly posted and ready to kill you. That's not why it is so very appropriate, however. The reason for the appropriateness of this song is that we will soon be killed. The OAOTs are dying. Slowly but surely. And at an incremental rate every day. Help save us by coming out to our record release and escape from Los Angeles party. (Parties?) The first and most official sounding and only one that we know if will be at Safari Sam's. Or else we will fucking kill Sam. That will be on Friday, April 28th for Kiss or Kill (Man it is more appropriate than I realized). The Power Cords open up, then we play, so you better be early! Plus it's 2 bucks less if you are there before 10pm, a whopping $3. It is all ages, you get a free advanced copy of the album (with all 16 songs) and you get to rock out to us. Then chick punkers So Unloved play followed by a band called TBA and then Mother Tongue!
Is this the end of the One And Only Typicals? It would be typical.
